Paving your way to beautiful outdoors

presenting DECOPAVE, by Flock Image

Longer and lazier days where we appreciate and look forward to enjoying our outdoor spaces are getting closer! And what better way is there to relax in your garden, back yard or indeed roof garden, than looking at your surrounding nature, and walking on comfortable and aesthetically pleasing flooring?

… meet DecoPave!

DecoPave is a resin bound paving system consisting of a mixture of aggregate stones and resin which is laid seamless and is also permeable. It offers a long-lasting and extremely durable alternative to traditional paving systems.

Options range from natural gravel and crushed stone to marble and recycled glass, providing almost limitless design options. The way the system is installed enables patterns and shapes to be clearly defined, giving designs which are constrained solely by the individual’s own imagination.

Indeed, one of the biggest advantages of DecoPave is that it is permeable, thus allowing water to simply drain away. On traditional concrete or tiled surfaces, water pools up, and settles on the top. With DecoPave, water is able to drain through to the sub-base. This drainage system enables the water to penetrate the DecoPave and filter down to the substrate, avoiding problems caused by standing water, and thus providing a safer NON-SLIP environment.

DecoPave is extremely comfortable to walk on, even with wet feet – without the fear of slips or trips, making it an ideal system to use for swimming pool surrounds.

Laid at between 12 to 18mm of thickness; depending on the usage (pedestrian / vehicular), DecoPave can also absorb any angulations in the sub-base.

Case Study: Valletta Design Cluster
When approached by the architects and project managers of the Valletta Design Cluster to install a flooring system onto the proposed garden pathway, we were immediately taken by the project.
The idea of this old building being refurbished to be able to be enjoyed once again is wonderful – and it gives back a much needed space to Valletta.

DecoPave flooring fits very well within the garden. Choosing earth colours for this project, complements the surroundings. It was a huge challenge to work on this project while other trades were on site too, but once the preparation on the concrete substrate was finished, laying the system was easy.

Following the Valletta Design Cluster project, Flock Image was also commissioned to lay another pathway in another upcoming Garden project – Romeo Romano Gardens in St Venera. These gardens are also being restored to their former glory and DecoPave was once again chosen as a highly durable and aesthetically pleasing system complementing the garden environment, doing away with the concrete look.
