Preserving Cultural Heritage :
the Fisherman’s Shed’s Refurbishment
V&M Contracting Ltd carried out the refurbishment of the Fishermen’s Shed in St Julian’s under the supervision of the Malta Tourism Authority.
This initiative was part of efforts to preserve cultural heritage and improve Malta’s traditional tourist attractions.
by V&M Contracting Ltd
The project aimed to restore the shed and adjacent boathouses, vital to local fishermen, while also enhancing the area’s appeal for tourists. This project, which was led by the Malta Tourism Authority, was therefore supportive of both the local fishing community as well as Malta’s tourism sector by revitalising a historic part of St Julian’s.
The renovations improved the aesthetic and functional aspects of the building. Restoration works, stone replacement, roof replacement and restoration of wooden doors and steel gates were elements of the restorative works carried out by V&M Contracting Ltd under the wings of the Tourism Authority.
