Pierre Galea Appointed Acting Secretary General of the MDA

The Malta Development Association (MDA) announces that, following a Council meeting held at the end of March Mr. Pierre Galea, who previously occupied the role of Assistant Secretary General, has been nominated, seconded, and unanimously approved to serve as Acting Secretary General of the Association.


Mr.Galea is one of the founding members of the MDA and notably served as the Association’s first Secretary General upon its establishment in 2010. His longstanding involvement reflects a deep-rooted commitment to the Association and its mission.

In his remarks, Mr. Galea described himself as a dedicated and approachable individual who has consistently worked with commitment and determination.

He emphasised that throughout his tenure with the MDA, he has collaborated closely with various Presidents and colleagues, always guided by a clear vision. His efforts have focused on strengthening the organisation’s role and ensuring that it continues to effectively represent and advocate for the interests of the industry.

Mr. Galea further highlighted the importance of teamwork, continuity, and shared goals in achieving meaningful progress. He noted that his continued commitment is driven by a genuine desire to see the MDA remain a strong, credible, and influential voice within the sector.

Mr. Galea will serve in the role of Acting Secretary General until the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was announced back on the 11th of March and is scheduled to take place on the 21st of May 2026.
