It is so heartening to see Malta, and its economy fare well despite all the issues that the world has had thrown at it. And in no way am I saying that Malta is immune to such happenings – it is not. We have yet to see how the current situation between the West and Russia, with hapless Ukraine dancing in the middle, is yet to affect our cost of living, cost of material for our industries. It is as equally bound to happen as it is that we will ride the wave.

In any case, these are challenging times for the MDA’s newly appointed President, Michael Stivala; a veteran field player who is provenly versed in the skills of construction and finances. Michael’s role will be to continue building on the solid foundations which were laid by his predecessor Sandro Chetcuti over the previous eleven years. He is set to steer the MDA into developing a stronger structure into the Association which reflects a more complex membership encompassment of the property and construction sectors. And Michael is equally determined to see the MDA help the industries it supports to be solid contributors towards Malta’s environmental targets for 2030.

This 18th edition of Design & Build strives to bring together once again a hefty selection of players providing the entire range of service provisions. We respect Malta’s stalwarts as well as those new entrants who are committed to deliver their promises, and our mission of bringing together serious market participants with the buying market remains unchanged.
