Lingonberries—known as tyttebær in Norwegian and Danish, rauðber in Icelandic, puolukka in Finnish, and lingon in Swedish - is the versatile key ingredient found in Nordic dishes combining bright colours with natural plant elements.

It was this varied combination so typical of northern Europe that inspired Elton Buhagiar to name his business - based on Scandinavian furniture and domestic design - after it. Lingonberries – the showroom - is therefore the juxtaposition of raw finishes and colourful accents that counteract the stark whiteness and minimalism of typical contemporary Modernist design.
Lingonberries is rooted in a love for industrial, vintage and Nordic- inspired design combined with craftsmanship that has respect for nature; that Lingonberries recognises that a home is more than just a dwelling. “We are inspired by nature, where the raw, beautiful, and gentle meet. Through each furniture piece, lighting fixture or vintage accessory hand-selected by our team, we strive to blend the functionalism and simplified forms of Modernist design with organic and individual styles,” Elton explains, noting also that “design is a way of living, not just a style - which is why Lingonberries focuses on the holistic art of living well.”
Elton, who is involved in all the aspects of the projects in hand, has a natural flair for design especially when it comes to conceptualising this with lighting solutions. His knowledge and passion is supported strongly by the beauty and the quality of the products which he represents here in Malta. He is also on the lookout for new opportunities and investors to collaborate with.
