Maduma Real Estate’s origins trace back to Infrastructure and Turnkey Projects Limited (I.T.P. Ltd); a company founded by its Managing Director Edward Borg, to supply electrical work, plumbing, installation of gypsum, as well as soffits, tiling, excavation, construction, alterations, renovation and construction services.
I.T.P. Ltd now employs an in-house notary and an architect,
in addition to a team of 7 trade specialists.
Run by Partners Edward Borg and Rebecca Toutoungi, two dynamic siblings in their 30s, Maduma Real Estate now works hand in hand with two entities to provide property owners with a superior one-stop shop service. Maduma Real Estate, Maduma Home Interiors and I.T.P. Ltd now cater to the range of services required by property owners looking to sell, purchase or refurbish a property, from construction to complete finishing.
In 2021, Maduma Real Estate was founded and is targeted at the property market; supporting clients to buy, sell or rent property, while also offering condominium management services. “We employ specialised agents and are looking to expand our team so that we are in a better position to support our clients to find the right property,” Edward explained, adding that their client base encompasses home seekers, renters as well as property owners and developers.

“Maduma Real Estate is focused on helping clients to efficiently convert their capital into property or vice versa, according to their individual needs. The keywords for us are ‘stress-free efficient customer service’ – which is most certainly a boon in the property industry,” Rebecca said.
“Our clients are especially enthusiastic about the tiles we import from Spain – which are made to EU standard and offer very good quality at a competitive price. We also support our clients by offering bespoke advice on the laying of tiles, both to embellish the property and to avoid excess waste,” Edward explained.
“Apart from the results achieved by the three operations individually, the business’ success can also be attributed to the strong synergy between them and the complementary nature of services they offer,“ Rebecca added. This provides clients with peace of mind, with one sole reference point guiding them to the different services under one roof, making for a stress-free experience – which is a rare occasion in the field of property.

While in only a few short years, the organisation has grown to offer a range of related services, the partners remain adamant that there are no plans for the business to become a large-scale operation. “We want to retain our current boutique approach. We are very focused on the quality of our work and on delivering to high standards, with the aim of exceeding customer expectations.
“We value each and every individual client and do not see our clients as just numbers. That’s not who we are and that’s not what Maduma Real Estate, Maduma Home Interiors and I.T.P. Ltd are about,” Edward stressed.

“Our high level of customer care has proven to be a key success factor for the business. It has also generated substantial word-of-mouth referrals as well as repeat clients. We are proud to say that our best advertisement remains the quality of our finished work. This is why I got into this field,” Edward – a qualified accountant – said.

“I love being on site, project managing the different client jobs we are working on. My hands-on approach means that I meet the individual clients and I know what is going on in every site we are working on,” he explained enthusiastically.
In addition to the quality of work achieved by the professionalism and attention to detail of the team, the company’s success is also largely due to the careful selection of the suppliers and brands which the Partners choose to work with. “While we cater to different tastes and budgets, quality remains our guiding principle,” Rebecca assures us.
I.T.P Ltd has also seen increased demand for Gozo-based projects where they have already executed several construction and conversion assignments, with others still in progress and more still in the pipeline. The local property market has seen a steep rise in Maltese people investing in Gozo over the past years. However, often such investors would not have the contacts of trusted turnkey and construction suppliers based on our sister Island. “These investors come into our shop for tiles, see the quality of our work first-hand and based on that alone, ask us to take care of their property on site, in Gozo,” Edward said. He explained that I.T.P. Ltd now has a specialised team working on Gozo-based projects, handling everything from A to Z.

The past year especially has proven to be a steep learning curve for the company, bringing in new experiences through the Maduma Home Interiors branch. In view of the company’s impressive growth trajectory, the corporate restructuring of the business, with clearer segregation of duties for each of the three separate entities, was required.
“From the outset, we had a clear strategy and vision to have three centres of excellence, providing clients with services, supplies and support with their property,” Edward explained. Rebecca added that the increase in workload has also brought about the need to increase the size of the employee pool.

The future looks bright for the partner-siblings and their business. “Our plans include getting an in-house designer to further consolidate the design services which we currently offer,” Rebecca explained.
Maduma Real Estate is also looking to further grow its team of property agents and strengthen their skilled-work team. And both Edward and Rebecca aim to retain their hands-on approach and their direct client contact on all the projects they take on.
